The day after ,Sounds like a movie title ! lol. I rolled my way over to the computer and dragged myself into the chair . I don't think I'll eat for a week,we all pigged out and now we pay the price !
It was well worth the bloat and the guilt !
everyone cleaned out the place and had a grand time of laughter and stories .Missing the family that could come and also the ones that have past on .Making new memories to share in the years to come.
I hope everyone had a great day and ate alot. Now that it is over the turkeys can come out of hiding . So let out your pants and rest up for the next holiday its not far away !! HMM ! Now where did I put that girdle.

OH you Turkey !
Five Turkeys in a Tree
Five fat turkeys are we.
We slept all night in a tree.
When the cook came around,
We couldn't be found
That's why we're here, you see!
Top Ten Signs You Had A Bad Thanksgiving
"You ran out of booze by 11am"
"Most frequently used word at dinner: Heimlich"
"Meal was leftovers from last Thanksgiving"
"Thanks to new electric knife, kids fought over wishbone and your severed thumb"
"The 'turkey' was wearing a dog collar"
"Spent day in Times Square waiting for the giant turkey to drop"
"Woke up from tryptophan-induced sleep to find yourself naked in the driveway"
"When dinner came out, so did your son"
"Laura and the twins lock you out"
"Your turkey dinner was the only breast you've touched all year"
BUTTERBALL TURKEY TALK-LINE
"GREATEST HITS"
(or, "Memorable Moments in Talk-Line History;" or,"Out of the Mouths of....Turkey Trauma Victims")
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Over the years, the Butterball Turkey Talk-Line staff have had their share of memorable calls -- inquiries that stand out from the crowd because they're heartwarming or amusing. We asked some of the veteran staff members to tell us their favorites; plus, we rounded up a bunch of our own personal favorites from the Talk-Line archives. It's hard to beat the call from a trucker who planned to cook his Thanksgiving turkey on the engine of his truck (Will it cook faster if I drive faster?), but some of these come pretty close. Warning: do not attempt to adjust your screen -- these are real incidents, true stories -- from the front lines!
Home alone, a Kentucky woman was in the doghouse when she called the Butterball Turkey Talk-Line. While preparing the turkey, her chihuahua jumped into the bird's body cavity and couldn't get out. She tried pulling the dog and shaking the bird, but nothing worked. She and the dog became more and more distraught. After calming the woman down, the Talk-Line home economist suggested carefully cutting the opening in the cavity of the turkey wider. It worked and Fido was freed!
Birdie, eagle and turkey? Roasting a turkey doesn't have to interfere with the daily routine, so said a retired Floridian. He called "Turkey Central" for turkey grilling tips while waiting to tee off from the 14th hole.
Taking turkey preparation an extra step, a Virginian wondered, "How do you thaw a fresh turkey?" The Talk-Line staffer explained that fresh turkeys aren't frozen and don't need to be thawed.
Don't wait until the last minute! On Thanksgiving Day, a Georgian woman took the "Be prepared" motto to heart. She had just agreed to host Thanksgiving Dinner and called the Talk-Line a year ahead of time for turkey tips.
Happy Thanksgiving, President Clinton! A Southern woman called to comment, "On Thanksgiving Day, the Butterball Turkey Talk-Line is more important than the President. He can take the day off, but the Talk-Line staff can't."
Thanksgiving Dinner on the run. A woman called 1-800-323-4848 to find out how long it would take to roast her turkey. To answer the question, the Talk-Line home economist asked how much the bird weighed. The woman responded, "I don't know, it's still running around outside."
Tofu turkey? No matter how you slice it, Thanksgiving just isn't Thanksgiving without turkey. A restaurant owner in California wanted to know how to roast a turkey for a vegetarian menu.
White meat, anyone? A West Coast woman took turkey preparation to extremes by scrubbing her bird with bleach. Afterward, she called the Talk-Line to find out how to clean off the bleach. To her dismay, she was advised to dispose of the turkey.
A young girl called on behalf of her mother who needed roasting advice. To provide approximate roasting times, the home economist asked what size the turkey was. Without asking her mother the little girl paused, then replied, "Medium."
A novice turkey-cooking chef wanted to know if the yellow netting and wrapper around the turkey should be removed before roasting. Envisioning a melted plastic turkey blob, the home economist responded, "Yes," then offered complete roasting directions.
Have a great Turkey Day !!

Christmas Bug !!
Well we don't need to worry about a white Christmas here ,father winter stop by last night and payed us a visit.
I think Jack frost stop over as well I'm still thawing out my cheeks HOOBOY !!
The Christmas bug has got a hold of me now and I have already started pulling out the decorations .Little by little I will put them up, this way it doesn't put my husband into shock or worse yet he has me locked up for being crazy !! WOOHOO!
The house is alive with the Christmas spirit and I have projects all over the place trying to finish up before the wonderful day ! It will be here in the blink of an eye. After all these years I finally found the star I was looking for ,for the tree. I have had angels and Santa's but it just never seemed right so for at least five years I have been looking for the perfect star and I found the one I wanted this year !
Even though we love all the pretty lights and decorations lets not forget the real reason for the holiday,it is the Lords birthday we celebrate.Don't forget the gift for him .

Let it Snow !
Well we can't run from it ,the snow made it way here last night . It was nice enough to stick around for the day also.
I say we make a break for it before it is too late !!
Oh remember the days when you couldn't wait for the snow to come . No matter how small the amount of snow you got you would scrape up enough to make the seasons first snowman.
5270144671148171874" />
The hours we would spend out in the snow playing and thinking nothing of it.
Now the older I get the colder it is out there and I plan my hibernation, and tell everyone I'll see them in the spring.
Well bundle up and keep warm this is only the beginning!

Warm and Toasty !
On days like these I always remember when I was a kid and how Mom would make everything so nice and snugglely!
Warm fuzzy blankets and the cozy couch. Hot chocolate and a snack of homemade cookies. One of my favorite was her oatmeal raisin cookies YUMMY !! right out of the oven was the best!
Oatmeal Raisin Cookies Ingredients
1 1/4 cups Butter 1 teaspoon Baking soda
3/4 cup Brown sugar 1 teaspoon Salt
1/2 cup Sugar 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
1 Egg 1/4 teaspoon Nutmeg
1 teaspoon Vanilla 3 cups Oats quick or old-fashioned
1 1/2 cups All purpose flour 1 cup Raisins
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Beat margarine and sugars until fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla. Add combined flour, baking soda, salt and spices; mix well. Stir in oats and raisins.
Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake 8-9 minutes for chewy; 10-11 minutes for crunchy cookies.
Cool 1 minute on cookie sheet. Remove to wire rack.
Store tightly covered.
There is nothing better then the smells of baking in the kitchen. I sure everyone would agree. The thing I really enjoyed the most was helping her make the cookies. It brings me back each time I would see my son or my niece help her, as my sister and I use to .I think most of the flour was on them, then in the cookies, but that is part of the fun and it always turned out GREAT !
Today is the perfect day to spend on the couch curled up in your favorite blanket and family.Flip through some photo albums or pop in the family movies, and spend the day down memory lane .
Now that the holidays are near and people are sharin recipes you all might like this one,it make the season a little more jolly!
Here is a turkey recipe that also includes the use of popcorn as a
stuffing -- imagine that. When I found this recipe, I thought it
was perfect for people like me, who just are not sure how to tell
when poultry is thoroughly cooked, but not dried out. Give this a try.
8 - 15 lb. turkey
1 cup melted butter
1 cup stuffing (Pepperidge Farm is Good.)
1 cup uncooked popcorn (ORVILLE REDENBACHER'S LOW FAT) Salt/pepper
to taste
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Brush turkey well with melted butter
salt, and pepper. Fill cavity with stuffing and popcorn. Place in
baking pan with the neck end toward the back of the oven.
Listen for the popping sounds. When the turkey's ass blows the
oven door open and the bird flies across the room, it's done.
HAPPY EATING !!!!

Freedom !
Let us all remember why we are free! Give respect to all who fought and still fight to keep our freedom.
These special men and woman give us all a very special gift that none of us can never repay.
In the beginning of a change, the patriot is a scarce man, and brave, and hated and scorned. When his cause succeeds, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a patriot. ~Mark Twain, Notebook, 1935
Give them our support and all our prayers. GOD BLESS AND KEEP THEM SAFE~ AMEN~

Live Life !
Today I was fill with sadness listening to the people around me . They only see the grief in life ,and this is an everyday thing. There are many days I wish they could see themselves,as I'm seeing them .I think if they did maybe they would stop and rethink what they are missing ! LIFE !!Everyone has their share of troubles, but our lives can't always revolve around them .We need to come up for air once in awhile. When are we as a people going to stop living for material things, and rejoice in what we are given.
We only have one chance at life. We spend too much time being unhappy.
How can we live in such sadness, when everyday is a new beginning.
Just try at least once a day take that one special moment and be grateful your alive,if that doesn't work drop your pants and crack a smile!!! at least that will make someone smile !
